The client approached us with an existing registered trademark and logo originally developed for a small-format Pan-Asian fast-casual outlet. The brand had recognition on a local level, but its visual language did not reflect the new strategic direction. The client’s ambition was to transform the concept into a premium Pan-Asian restaurant with a refined atmosphere and elevated positioning. The task was not to create a brand from scratch, but to carefully reinterpret the existing trademark and evolve it into a more sophisticated, high-end identity — without losing brand continuity.

We developed a minimalist and restrained visual system that shifted the perception of the brand from fast food to premium dining. The new identity is built on a deep, controlled color palette — burgundy, dark green, and black — creating a sense of depth, elegance, and quiet confidence. Subtle bamboo illustration elements were introduced to reinforce the Japanese cultural reference while maintaining modern minimalism. The typography was refined to feel balanced and architectural, supporting the atmosphere of a premium restaurant rather than a casual dining spot.

The rebrand successfully repositioned Papaya from a fast-casual format into a premium Pan-Asian restaurant concept. The updated identity allowed the client to launch a new restaurant space with a coherent visual atmosphere — from signage and menus to interior branding elements. The result is a confident, elegant brand presence aligned with the client’s strategic growth ambitions.
